Eyes on Ecuador
Webster's defines "mission" as a body of persons sent to perform a service or carry on an activity. A team is defined as "a set of people working together for a common goal." Join the Advent "mission team" as we head to Ecuador October 23-30. We will join together to increase our awareness of how Christ works beyond our own borders, to strengthen the Advent community support of being mission minded (both local and foreign) and to support our own Advent missionaries in their field of work.
You have been most generous during the drive to collect school supplies for students at MaryH.WrightElementary School, and your participation is greatly appreciated. This drive continues until August 8. You may donate pens, pencils, notebooks, loose-leaf paper, crayons, etc. purchased anywhere. Collection boxes will be located in the narthex, the ParishLifeCenter, and the church office. For your convenience, the Advent Shoppe will sell special $15 bags of supplies put together for this drive.
Last year, the school supplies donated by parishioners met a real need, and that need is even greater this year.
School began again for Wright students on July 19. This is a particularly goodtime to volunteer to visit the school regularly as a mentor, reading buddy, or homework helper. Contact the Croslands at 591-2234 or
