Parish Life Mission Statement
As followers of our Lord Christ, who is friend and companion, we the people of the Advent, are called to share with one another the joys and responsibilities of Christian fellowship through hospitality, celebration, learning, creative expression, play, and service.
Our Parish
We gather in His name—in large and small groups, in age-specific settings and intergenerational extravaganzas, in the church and on the lawn, to break bread and to break ground. Parish Life at the Advent is rich in opportunities to greet, gather, grow, and give. On a weekly basis or in once-a-year fashion, fun and fellowship opportunities for everyone abound.
Social gatherings in members’ homes include Fellowship Group, Sorta Young / Baby Boomers, and 20s, 30s, 40s CONNECT. Be sure you’re on our email list to receive e-invitations to the group that best matches your age (although all ages welcome at any!).
ECW (Episcopal Church Women) Circles for all ages meet regularly for fellowship, study and service. The Episcopal Church Women’s Constitution has been updated this past year. Please click here to view the document.
EpiscoPals, for all members 45+, meets 6 times a year for the best lunch in town (and only $6) as well as an entertaining program.
There are numerous ways to use your gifts at the Advent. These ministry opportunities for connection provide tangible ways for us to serve Christ in this community of faith. Our hope is that you will find a ministry that corresponds to your passions and your talents.
Hospitality is a spiritual gift, and the welcome is guaranteed to be warm at any and all Advent programs. We hope to see you soon!
